About Paul Mecurio

Paul has won an Emmy Award & Peabody Award (think Pulitzer Prize for broadcasting) and nominated for a second Emmy Award for his work on “The Daily Show w/Jon Stewart.”

A graduate of Georgetown Law and former Wall Street Lawyer and Investment Banker, Paul met Jay Leno while on Wall Street who hired him to start writing jokes for “The Tonight Show.” Not long after, Paul left Wall Street to pursue a career as an entertainer, successfully becoming a national headlining comedian and actor, as well as show creator, producer and writer - winning major awards along the way.

Paul has made over two dozen television appearances on such shows as his own Comedy Central Special, “The Late, Late Show,” HBO, “The Tonight Show,” Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show,” Showtime, “Late Night w/Conan O’Brien,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Comedy Central’s “Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn,” NBC’s “Late Friday,” Comedy Central’s “Dr. Katz,” VH1’s popular clip shows, “Katie Couric” and “Bethenny.” Paul was featured in “The Daily Show” segment, “Second Opinion,” in which he skewered the medical profession playing an HMO representative with a less than sympathetic mindset. He is also a regular contributor on Fox News Channel, CNN, MSNBC, CNBC and ESPN. Paul has also performed three times at the prestigious Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal.

Paul has a very popular podcast, “The Paul Mecurio Show,” on iTunes which showcases Paul’s refreshing, in depth, and entertaining interviewing style. Paul has interviewed such “A” list celebrities as Paul McCartney, Jay Leno, Bob Costas, Stephen Colbert, Sugar Ray Leonard and many more.
